How it all started in 2011
Samir Sain, founder of Helping Hands Foundation, started feeding stray dogs in 2011. What began as leaving food outside his house grew into a city-wide operation.
He quickly realized that food alone wasn't enough — dogs needed medicine, shelter from the cold, and someone who would show up every single day, no matter what.
So he built the infrastructure that didn't exist: a network of feeding stations, medical support, and now — a platform where anyone, anywhere in India, can be that person who shows up.
